3.0, 3.2 and 4.0 are Amiga versions and the 5.0 is a PC MIDI based version.
H Gehrmann : "Soundcontrol is a sample player. 4 main tracks point to patterns that consist of the following data: note, instrument, velocity, length. The instruments have some kind of a "command table" with e.g. waitframe, loop, pitch change, sample offset change and others. With the command system it's possible to do pitch shifting (playing a sample in different pitches without changing its playing length and speed). It's similar to Chris Hülsbeck's TFMX. 2 extra tracks are for controls like main transpose or speed change. Subsongs are not really supported, but I remember making SCT files with several different songs included (by changing the offset into the track table)."

(C)1992, Millennium
by Alan MCarthy and Andi Sanders for Vectordean.

"The RJP1 player/editor was written on an amiga 3000, it was fully multitaskable and intuition based. The work was originally started by Alan Mcarthy, he started the initial frame work to the editor, then I took it over : created the replayers, soundeffect channels, and specialised effects with waveforms being able to modulate waveforms, sequencers, channels etc. For instance in one game the entire soundeffects and music score was around 30k. The replay code was basically used in a multitude of game from Sensible, Renegade and BitmapBrothers last time I spoke with them, they had ported the code to PC's and the editor was being used for many years after the amiga stopped shipping titles. In 95 they were still using it, and I believe Mike Montgomery of Bitmaps, ported the code to PC." (A Sanders).
